I made this a little while ago as a gift for my boyfriend. It's an illustration of a short story I wrote in school once upon a time. Maybe two years ago or something.

Really satisfied with the result actually. Especially the fact that I succeded in creating more or less convincing blonde hair this time. Wooo

Yeah, and the naked guy in the water is Näcken (or Nyx in english, I think) a water spirit in nordic folk belief who lures anyone who is foolish enough to come to close to his waterbodys into the water, making them drown. In some stories he can turn into a horse, Bäckahästen, (thus the tail) who tricks little children into sitting on his back, so he can jump into the water and drown them. Sometimes they say they're the same creature, and sometimes that they are two dfferent. Bäckahästen is definitely the more evil though. Different storys says different things, but some believe he isn't actually evil, just lonely, and calling people to him so that he can have some company. I think so actually^^

This picture was heavily inspired by a favourite work of art of mine by John Bauer called "Prinsessan Tuvstarr". It's actually an illustration of a fairytale called "Älgen Skutt och prinsessan Tuvstarr" (Translates to: "Bouncy the Moose and Princess Tuvstarr") and I have always loved it, especially that illustration.
