R: I'm glad you liked the trailer! And no, in Korean Jesus is pronounced "Yeh-suu". Yahushua is the English transliteration of the Hebrew name "Jesus" ("God Saves"). Although the word "Jesus" is the English transliteration of the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew name. Not that we have anything against people that use the name Jesus tho. ^^Β

Yeah, but his name is Jesus coz that's what people all agree his name is. A word doesn't get its meaning from its origin, but from its use. :L Calling him something else runs the risk of alienating christian readers who could see it as either an insult or a weird offshoot faith that's not true to the Bible in some way. When I read it I was like "Oh okay, so they've changed his name on purpose, I wonder if they're trying to make a criticism against Christianity by saying that Jesus isn't important it's just the mythos that's build around him that matters and he could be replaced by anyone else and people would still believe it, or if the plot will involve some alternate history where someone else did some meddling in history via time travel or something to influence christian tradition to affect world history in a way that benefits them." Personally, I wouldn't have gone with a different name for him, because even if it wasn't intentional, that change will make a statement to the viewers, although it seems like the statement Hana's trying to make is that people have gotten Jesus's name wrong for all of history and that Yahushua is his real name, and you'd rather that be adopted into mainstream Christianity. Is that correct?

Our other viewers haven't had a problem with the name, but I'm thankful that you took the time to comment your reaction and concern. We didn't realize that people could (and apparently do) think that way, so thank you for telling us.
Having said that, your assumption is all wrong. We use the Hebrew name "Yahushua" for a different reason. Although we don't like discussing about our beliefs online, the usage of the name Yahushua is important to this story, and the reason may show up sometime later. Once again, we have nothing against people who use the name Jesus, nor do we think that it is incorrect to use it. And yes, in English, people have agreed to call him Jesus; you are absolutely right.Β We use the name Jesus from different languages for a reason, and I'm sorry to hear that it gave a negative impression on you. You have stated valid points (which I agree with) and I hope that other people who view Hana's work won't misunderstand. We probably won't change it in the trailer or story however, since like stated, we do have a reason to use the Hebrew name. We do not expect to see the name Yahushua used in mainstream Christianity, nor is it our goal.
But all in all, I think you just kinda over-read into it...

No of course you're not trying to harm anyone. no one wakes up in the morning and thinks to themselves "hmmm, I wonder who I'll be able to harm today!"
I'm glad you appreciated the honesty, because that means I feel confident to be honest with you in the future so that we can have actual discussions about this stuff which would benefit both of us as content creators.
What I said wasn't to say that I had a negative reaction to it (tbh I did, but that wasn't the point of what I was saying, and I'm going to give Hana the benefit of the doubt and assume there's a solid narrative reason for why that decision was made.) but was instead to more point out the fact that as writers and content creators, the content we produce makes statements about the world around us and how we see it, regardless of if it's intentional or not. Actually, just as I was writing that I made a tally of the ethnicities of the characters in my book and found out that out of the 25 characters in it, only 4 weren't white, and while the setting does account for the majority of characters being white (North America), it's not natural to have that large a bias, and so that's where you need to be aware that even in the small things how you make your content says something about how you see the world. As a white person who comes from a predominantly white culture, the characters whose ethnicities weren't important sort of defaulted to being white in my head. I changed it so that there was more ethnic diversity, but if I didn't, then my book would eventually make the statement that being white is the default setting for humans, and that if you're not white you're an odd variation, which is't at all the statement I want to make, so it's important to know the little things you're saying about the world in your works so you can avoid accidentally sending the wrong message. For another example, Out of all the characters in the book I'm writing only one isn't American, and she's also a very self interested strong individual who can be rather unpredictable, and at some point I considered making her be revealed as the true final villain after the major factions made peace with each other, which is a role that particular character would totally take up excellently, but then I realized making the only foreign character take up that role would imply the message is that foreigners are ruining America and that we Americans need to come together to expel them from out land to make America great again! Which is again, definitely not the statement I want to make. 
Also, about reading too much into it, since this comment's long I won't go into it too much, but telling people to stop reading too much into it severely limits what stories could be! Why be just a fun time, when you can also both produce a fun and compelling story, that also makes major statements about the world, what needs to change, how we should live our lives for the best of humanity, and all that! Stories can be so much more than dumb fun, you know?

R: I'm glad you took it that way, and yes I admit I was a little concerned about your comment; I knew that there can be nasty people online, and I've meet with a lot of people who simply wanted to pick a fight.
I see what you mean, and yes, you're right, it is important to consider the possibility of deeply reading into someone's work. I actually try thinking many layers beneath my own story plots, so I know where you're coming from.
Having said that, it's kinda awkward for me to say anything truly of Doraji, since it's not my work, but Hana's. I don't think that she thought of anything too deeply in that matter of how it will effect others; originally, she was writing the story mainly for herself and those close to her. But I know that she did not mean to offend anyone when using the name "Yahushua" (which I do as well), so on that point I can clearly speak for her.
Like how you cannot make that statement (although faulty) about your "evil villain being an anti-foreigner" message until you have read up to that point, I think it will be more clear once Hana actually writes out more of her story. Of course, the trailer is written from Marla's point of view, (as she is the main character) but she is just one character out of many.
I just talked to her about it, and she said that she probably will create a short (or a chapter) that explains/discusses about that (hopefully; she's pretty busy but she does want to get back to her story). She says thanks for bringing it up. ^^

It's about a couple of brothers who live in this peaceful God-fearing community. Jason tries to cope with his desire for adventure, and along comes a lost girl named Alice. She tries to find home, and the people of the community decides to take her in.
That's pretty much it. xD The fun part is all the little interactions between the characters.
