My dog used to sleep on his back too, but he was way too big to sleep in the bed.
And this drawing reminds me of one fanfic I once wrote, and there was a short conversation between Dimitri and Vlad, and Dimitri mentioned that sometimes he has to allow the "mutt" to sleep in the bed. But, he said in such a way, that it was obvious he'd much more prefer to keep Pooka away from the room Dimitri shared with Anya.
