Description
Sigh. Well, I got better paper (Strathmore Bristol Smooth 300) and there's definitely a marked difference in absorption but still having trouble with layering. This was an exploration with stroke patterns and depth. I like refining this kind of flat style but it's hard to stick with just one thing. Clearly learned a few no-nos about lining and the like (re: the red harness and mane fur).Kind of annoyed with still getting streaks and I can't seem to figure out the right pressure/coloring pattern to get it right. It's getting better though. Also it doesn't seem these markers (Ohuhu) can hold up as well as better markers but I'm not at the level or budget to upgrade. The bleeding and feathering was wildly inconsistent between shades. The purple was the worst. This is why I did not clean up the edges, I want to show what this looks like raw. Also I ended up using the back side of the card, although paper reviews said it was reversible, it doesn't seem so. I got something on the "front" of the sheet and used the back side. Could be a factor.
A little frustrated but definitely see improvement, now I just need to work on my own technique. If I ever figure it out. Hard not to get discouraged.
The doggo pictured is my late malamute/wolf mix, Czar. One of my favorite photos of him. His deathiversary is coming up and I'm thinking about him a lot. Cuddle your furbabies extra for me, especially the old ones
