This is a work in progress that I have in my foundary class... It's a wax tile, that will eventually be bronzed - when I get around to finishing the others XD It's one of my Dune Dragons - the kind that look like a Utah Raptor? XD hehehe The darker stuff is real wax, and the lighter stuff is sculpting wax - which leaves a really gross feeling on your hands x_x lol I made the original out of clay, before I made a plaster mold in which to pour the wax down into, before I added the accents with the sculpting wax, and using clay tools, a handheld blow torch, and a sautering iron to add the texture you can't see too well, cuz its shiney wax, taking with a crappy camera. XD(Don't shoot me, I know the sides aren't even, but then again, I'm better at drawing then I am sculpting XD lol)

Sweet! How do they bronze something if it's made out of wax? Wouldn't it melt?

Hehe its supposed to melt, that's the whole point! 
What we do is... We make the sculpture out of wax, then we attach it to a wax spure - which holds multiple works of wax together. Then we coat it in a silicone base, before we shoot it down with the same sort of stuff - it makes a hard shell. We then melt the wax out, which leaves a mold - which we pour the bronze into.
