This will be reloaded after each stage until I have the final one up. This is the first painting I'm doing for intermediate oil painting. The project was to paint from a drawing we had done, and since my professor didn't like anything I had, I had to draw something different... I opted for pyramids which are apparently giving birth to the universe while the sandy desert they're located in melts back into space... Or... something like that o.O I don't really put heavy thoughts into my surrealism, I pretty much just let my imagination barf on the paper.

This is a certain style of painting... the underpainting is all opaque and it moves from medium tone grays to whites. Once the underpainting is done, we add liquin to our paint to turn it translucent, and paint over the underpainting in as many layers as we can... this, giving the colors a WHOLE new level of depth. Wish me luck!

Next Step: Now that the underpainting is done (YAY!) It's time to add on a LOT of layers of glaze! O.O
