This is a newer version of the MLP request piece that I did for a friend last year. The last one has been moved to my scraps folder.
The reason I decided to update this piece is because of the hate notes that I received about the original. Not for the picture itself but because of the placement of some characters. Now, the reason for the ‘wrong placement’ is because I have never watched the show (apart from the crappy 80's one that my sister liked...I can still hear that god dam theme song.) I had to read countless Wiki pages to make sure that I got (or at least I thought) the right places for the characters. The person who requested it loved it and so I went onto my next project. But, like I said, after the hate notes I knew I had to do something about it. So I took out my trusty Bamboo pen and set to work trying to make things right!
All most everything in the new piece has had some kind of change. Wither it be slight changes like darkening the colour, or a complete change in design. The piece is almost completely different from the original. This really did take a lot of time to make, in fact the first rough sketches I did for this was back in August 2013 and I didn’t finish until the end of November. These new changes have also taken another two months to do. While I am not a fan of the show I do like the art style so this might not be the last MLP piece that I will do. I will say that I think the Demon...thing in the bottom left is maybe a little too evil looking.
Now I know that there are many MANY more forgotten characters that I would loved to have added but sadly I did have to draw the line somewhere. So sorry if your favourite is not here.
As for the inspiration for this piece, the main one is a Zelda fan art done a few years ago by the artist AG+ (I think) So full credit to them for their inspirational work. (If anyone knows which one I'm on about can they please post me a link to it so I can add it here.)

For someone who isn't even a fan of the show, this is an incredible piece. There are only few artists who can put so much realism into the art style. Fantastic job, man!!

While I have never watched the show, I do like the art style. There is just something about it that I like, maybe because it reminds me of the Powerpuff Girls and the Dexter's Lab cartoons. (I loved DL as a kid!)

I really love your way of drawing (demon) Sunset Shimmer and Trixie. No offense to the fandom, but I don't think I've seen anyone make Trixie's hat all patched and DSS even more demonlike. I love that!

It's a compilation of the best art (usually 40 to 60 works in a single Drawfriend) that bronies make.

Shame you got so much pressure from this, some people can be irrational. This piece is amazing, that's all that should matter. In any case this was impressive to look at, for someone who hasn't actually watched the show you did a great job.

I'm afraid not, what you see is pretty much what I painted. I am thinking about completing it and having it as a stand alone piece after I've finished a few other pieces first!

I am impressed that you included so many of them.
I would personally have placed the Mane 6 closely together where Twilight is now, just below Cadence and Shining Armour, but beyond that I will say that it is a spectacular work. I think it is a shame that you changed Celestia and Luna, I liked way you did them last time.
I think the villains in particular are placed nicely (yeah! my two favourites, Nightmare and Chrysalis have centre positions

Thinking about it now, it probably would have been a better idea to have put the six main ones together. Maybe I'll do a third version next year!
I did want to put the old princess designs on the top like the old version but I couldn't get it to look right. No matter what I tried it looked out of place. After messing about with different idea's this one seemed to fit the best.
