Prince of Lies, Lord of the Flies, yada yada yada. The Devil did not appear in "When We Had Tails" because the story had no need for him. He did, however, appear in several other stories from the same late '90s time period, now collected in Pin Drop and Aphantasia. I have kind of a wild hair to bring him back for a new story in a similar vein, but I'm not sure if and when that will actually happen.

In any case, I liked a drawing I did of him with a tie on, so that became the basis for this drawing. Instead of an ornate throne, he has one that's more of a functionalist mid-century modern style throne, which looks just enough like a toilet to bother people. Because adding a little extra low-grade evil never did him any harm.
