Phew! This baby was a tough one. Kind of a quick painting, 5-6 hours, because there are no scales. That's okay. He's amazing. The first drawing for a set for a proper ref of him. To be done... whenever I can manage.

I bought this design from - I loved it the second I saw it! I have needed a design for a dragon OC of mine for the last... ever. Seriously, I have had a dragon OC since I was either a freshmen or sophomore in high school... I just haven't ever materialized him yet and she was able to put together something I absolutely love.

General Info:
This is Blythe, my dragon guardian. Has an underbite jaw, with a bit of a heavy forehead close to a horse. His paws are that of lions, and his wings branch out on his forearms like a wyvern. The stones that are on his arms and tail are symbolizing his close relation to the earth, although he prefers to be known as a volcanic dragon. There are two sets of giant scales along his spine with white markings- they glow when he is speaking telepathically.

He is with me always. No matter what, he stands with me and watches over me. He can see what I see, via telepathy, if he chooses to, although our emotions speak for each other more than anything else. He understands me, and is enraged with me, patient with me, and caring, deep inside. He is a dragon of emotion, and is receptive to those who are sensitive, which is how we met.

History:
He was created to be a giant telepathic radar which scientists could control and he would be the new weapon against mother nature, in that he might be able to tell what the weather and tectonic movements would be; E.g. Hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes. However, his telepathy grew with use, and he was able to see what the scientists intended for him, and he grew very sad. He's a nice guy, but he didn't ask for this life. He didn't want to help people who didn't appreciate him. Then, one fall, he picked up on my insane emotional scale and got interested. He wasn't able to stay with me constantly at the time, however, because the mountains nearby spoke too loudly whenever I got too close. When the scientists tested him in the field, he would only pay attention a little bit. Most of his focus was spent on finding me and speaking to me; which he was able to succeed in doing. We grew to be great friends, and he fueled my dragon drawings, and although I had never seen him I knew I had a friend I could trust. We just had this.. unique wavelength. Eventually, however, my rebellious nature and anger towards his unfair imprisonment spread through his desire, and he attempted asking the scientists if he could leave, if he promised to monitor the weather and aid in saving lives for warning systems. The scientists were taken aback, for they didn't realize that he had learned to speak English out loud, and they took to his intelligence curve with fright. Blythe warned them that his wrath, if necessary, could resemble the fury of a spewing volcano, and nothing they had could stop him once he started. They didn't listen, and I will spare you the horror of the Earth's terrible wrath.

Blythe came to me, once free, although he was sad about the scientists. He still had all the information they had studied over the years, though he didn't dare trust any other human. I told him that I would mail science institutions across the world with bits of information he would be willing to share, so that their death wasn't in vain. He came to be my best friend, understanding me beyond every level, and we grew together in the world, doing our best to make our paths in the benefit of the Earth.

And crappy backstory is bleh. At least there's something somewhat original! My internet has been terrible lately, and I'm not sure why So just try to be patient with me while I try to figure this out.
