Audition for 2018 OC-Pageant at TheOC-pageantOfDA

I decided to try out for the pageant this year. I wanted some outside source to motivate me to draw more so even if I'm voted out I hope to finish all the entries.

I picked Mirva because she is a hottie with a big wardrobe, so she shouldn't be difficult to draw for my first try.

Ok, here we go:

Name: Mirva
Age: about 300
Height: 157cm (5,1ft) but since she came out the forest you won't see her bare foot, so it's more like 165 (5,3ft)
Gender: very much female
Species and origin: nature elemental - dryad; she came out of a forest in the south-eastern forests of Naar and into a brick jungle.
Personality: driven, daring, manipulative, intelligent, cultured, well mannered, full of life, hardworking, inquisitive, charming and captivating, adventurous, loyal, observant, mature,
Relationships (family, friends, lovers etc.):

The list would be long if we were to cover whole three centuries of plotting and seducing so keeping it current:

    · Rejlan - her lover and source for constant frustration

    · Albert Marcel Abbot - her gate mage (a chauffeur of sorts you might say)

    · Felicity - her seamstress (only female friend-adjacent person in her life)

She knows hundreds of politicians and other people (mostly from the higher society) but there is no friendship there, just business. But that's how she is and what she likes.

Hobbies and Occupation:

She is a quite big personality in many political and social circles. Currently she is a resident minister in Arwa-Turis, serving the Kszy-Ikligyszan embassy. In absence of the ambassador himself she serves as the chargé d'affaires and on more permanent bases she is the communication attaché. She also holds few honorary titles in charity work and such. Her occupation really is her hobby. Outside that, she likes to show herself of in the society, and feel the admiration beaming from the eyes of people surrounding her.

Their usual/preferred style of clothing:
She wears only haute couture clothing, done only by one of her pre-approved seamstresses (now she became a patron of the house of Felicities Fashions in Arwa-Turis). She always looks well groomed and elegant, she has a wardrobe that spreads through almost one whole floor of her residence. She has clothes covering styles for the last 200 years, so she has a lot to choose from. She is a bit short for her own liking so she always wears very high heels or platform shoes (or combination of both).

Likes:

She loves all the processes involved in getting ready for an outing (it doesn't matter if it's something fancy or not).

She loves debating things with other people.

As a dryad she doesn't have to eat, as she can live on sunshine and water alone but she does enjoy going for sweets and coffee. Although she would never insult anyone by refusing a meal. She also eats loads of sweets when she is upset (ice cream and cheesecake are her favourite).

She really likes to dance.

Her favourite plant is the peach-leaved bellflower.

Dislikes:

Fire, there is no fire in her house. It's rather brisk inside and everything is lit with magical lanterns during the day and glowing plants and fancy fungi at night.

Another thing she does not approve of is wooden furniture. She left the forest but on some level she still finds wooden objects unpleasant, bordering on vulgar.

She is a dryad, and she will never hate flora but the fauna is another story. She was never good with handling animals, it's just one part of the nature world that was always an unsolved puzzle for her. Animals move and smell, and she just can't. Just can't. So she didn't find it difficult to wear them.

Caterpillars, she harbors a very, very deep hatred and disgust towards caterpillars, she also doesn't trust butterflies for obvious reasons.

Just as she doesn't mind food, she really dislikes alcohol. Again she will drink a toast if the situation calls for it but even little amounts make her feel unwell, so she generally avoids it.

Baths, especially warm baths, because then she gets mossy and mushroomy very fast. Dryads don't sweat, and don't secrete any sebum, they smell like the trees they were born to ( some may smell), so most of them have a very nice natural scent, and they very rarely need to wash. When they do they do not use much water as water makes them grow rapidly (and most of it is growing rounder not taller). They almost double their size and if the water is warm they additionally get covered in moss and such. Mirva finds it very bothersome and equally unbecoming.

Any other important details we all need to know about this OC (special abilities, strange obsessions etc.):

Her life tree is a white mulberry tree.

Mirva has the power that any dryad has - she can control the growth of plants that she planted, and she can try to impose her will on other, pre-existing plant life. She has a unbreakable bond with nature, that she isn't particularly fond of, but it comes in handy from time to time.

The big golden bracelet she sometimes wears on her right arm is more than an accessory. It's enchanted with a special spell that allows Mirva spend extended amounts of time away from her tree. The further she goes the shorter the trip can be. When she stays somewhere for too long, her skin starts to turn into tree bark. The process slowly spreads all over her body and she could turn into a wooden statue (that could be 'revived' by renewing her bond with her tree).

She is driven and might seem narrow-minded in her pursuits... and she kind of is. But what the hey, she isn't really human, any other dryad would be very driven to keep people of her tree and not much else.

YES, it is okay with me if someone else is drawing my character and makes them interact with other characters (granted that my OC is treated in a respectful manner)
