Description There are a few kits in 1/144 scale of the YT3000 commercial starfreighter known to sci-fans as The Millenium Falcon available out there. But they are pretty expensive resin cast affairs, so I opted for a scratchbuilt replica. Using a core of foamboard and pieces of Bristol art paper, created the basic saucer hull and then some carved dowel rod for the cockpit arm and some kitchen items (vermicelli ! ) for the piping on the external as well as the gun barrels and drive rods for the com-dish. Painted as the early version "Falcon" which had the red circle over the entire top. BTW, while looking online for a good 3-view plan drawing to work from, pulled up a picture of a big ore freighter running on the US Great Lakes called, you guessed it, The Millenium Falcon. You just gotta be the king of the Wise-A**** to name your ship after that, but how cool too. Imagine greeting prospective hired hands first boarding the ship in a Wookie-Costume ?
