Description
A patch for the USS Pioneer, originally a United Earth ship that survived the Romulan War and was transferred over into the Federation's Starfleet. Captain Reed was assigned as master of this vessel in 2162.This ship is one of the hero ships of the Rise of the Federation book saga, which chronicles the first years after the formation of the Federation. I honestly didn't read the books yet, so I hope the patch doesn't get described on them and it's actually totally different...
The patch itself is based both on the Pioneer Plaque from the Pioneer 10 and 11 probes, and on the patch of the real world USS Pioneer . Hope you like it.

Having recently read through all RISE OF THE FEDERATION novels to date (and the author's excellent online annotations), I can safely assure you that there are absolutely no contradictory descriptions of USS Pathfinder's patch in any of them! (or, indeed, any detailed assignment patch descriptions at all).
