It's been a while since I last got to draw a forest background! *w* I went a bit wild with it though,, it was supposed to be just something simple, a sketched out rock, and some branches to suggest the setting,, but once I had a visual image in my mind I just couldn't go for anything less, oops

No problem! Dublicate the lineart layer, and if your program has the option-bar "filters", go to "blur filter" and then specifically "gaussian blur"
I usually do something like 4-5 px blur, and then lower the opacity to 20-30%, to avoid making it too blurry/ too dark.
How much/little you blur can depend on what lineart style you have :>
