hhhhhh still so much to learn and improve!! I really want to get better at doing these kinda ominous atmospheres, and I still get muddled during the process of dealing with backgrounds,, especially if I don't have a concrete plan in mind, but rather just a general feel to work off of.
I'm basiclaly here like
because I'm starting to really feel how dependent I was on my commission work to get a sense of how my improvement curve is coming along. I've been learning a lot of useful various stuff in school, but the best way for me to get better at illustration commissions, still is to just do illustration commissions,, so I really miss just having the time to just be really productive. For my next commission re-opening I'll definitely focus on making adjustments that would let me do comms more often than once a week!

Very interesting in terms of a creature Hybrid drawing.
Although I do have to wonder. Was this thing is thing was once a human who was experimented on by government scientist who is now attempting to escape from them?Β
Or this is a were-creature transformation that happens to this man at night? If you could answer my question. That would be nice.

I can answer this question as it's my friends OC. Toby here was indeed once human and is an escaped experiment from a lab.(not sure if it was a government lab but a lab nonetheless lol)Β Poor boy had quite the chase through the woods before he escaped them.

I don't know if this was your intention, but it looks to me like a "deer in the headlights".
Like a car, or someone with one of those high power flashlights or something is coming down the road, and he is blinded, and totally caught off guard. It's like a creature sighting photo. But if they were ever sharp or in focus, lol.

If you see a video link in the description of a piece, I nearly always mention the original length of that recording in the description of the video :> For this one it was 5 hours and 15 min. (though as I mention it in the video, I lost half an hour of work due to my program crashing at the very end, which I then had to redo, so overall time spent is actually 5h 45min)

I know through my own struggles what you mean by struggling with atmosphere. Yet I MUST point out how this piece is absolutely spooky. The foggy pathway... the dark trees... the glowing eyes of the character. I can get a feel for βvampiresβ when I look at this image. I can also invision something coming out behind him and dragging him back into the dark.Β
