Description
YOOOoooooooooSpent a bit longer on this one if you can tell,, (and also simplified Nulls already simple design for the sake of saving time)
This one is 23 frames
Animated with "FireAlpaca", started yesterday (you know, during the time I actually should've been studying for Maths)
And here's what the initial sketched frames looked like:

Looks really nice! What kind of animal did you use as reference? (if you used any)

None :'I
I have a tendency to just improvise stuff out of laziness and ultimately make things more difficult for myself,, but I do draw from visual memory tho. So probably a mix between horse and dog??
I guess I also tend to do stuff without reference since I usually draw non-existent creatures and need to improvise in any case

Oh, I see. I asked because the creature is canine-like, but the run cycle reminded of a horse. I guess it truly is a mix between horse and dog

Amazing! Reminds me a lot of my Hellhound Bilial! You've drawn him before~

Yeehh this guy here would usually have some spikes and black goo bubbling on his skin,, but you could probs imagine why I opted to not draw those this time ;I

the back seems a bit odd. the animation could benefit from more dynamism. other than that, good work. Β

Do you maybe have some advice on how to dynamise a running animation? x:

oh goodness- i forgot to add that in. my apologies there if i came off a tad rude!Β
well, being as that i am not an animator myself, my only advice would be purely observational. the creature in your piece here seems to have a feline-like motion to start with, and in critters that run in powerful leaps and bounds i like to take into account the physics behind those motions. the front portion of the body is doing great in your run cycle, but the back needs to kick off more and the spine would have to arch to accommodate the energy of the motion. for instance- when a horse kicks off into a gallop, or when one observes a cheetah in full speed.Β
i am terribly sorry if this was not as helpful as you may have liked! the musculature is spot-on, though, so i wouldn't worry about changing it for the sake of dynamics modifications.Β

No worries!! Thank you for the elaboration

This is amazing tbh. The smooth animation along with the great anatomy is perfect. Do you have any plans of making the camera move along with the creature in the future?

Thank you!! Do you mean as in swirling around the creature, showing a 360Β° like view on it? That would certainly be quite a bit more challenging :'x tho it would definitely be something I should try out in the future, yes!

That would be fun! (It would also look really cool) But, I was more meaning, when the creatures head bobs, so does the camera, so it gives it more motion.Β

This looks amazing! A huge improvement from last time! ^-^
I suppose the only way you could improve it now is to add colour or to keep the design as it was (not simplifying).

This looks amazing! I also love the idea with the number over his head counting for each frame!

Wow, it must have taken so much time, with 23 frames and all the muscles. Good job! It's really smooth.
(I can't stop thinking about that scene from the Lion King tho. :'D)
