Description For: Hope you like it!!

Good ol' floof with a random watermelon, because why not?? If your shapeshifting fox is prone to licking things, a watermelon should be fun to explore, right?... might get quite messy though

OMG I LOVE ALL THE SKETCHES.
Thank you so so much! The poses and expressions are amazing! I'm sure she explored many watermelons and it always has been a mess ahaha

this is so beautiful ! I wish I could buy a sketch page from you...but I can't. I just have a questio, how did you learn to make your realistic background ? My backgrounds are always so baaaad...

I haven't really done any special training, nor have I taken any classes or followed a specific path,, I've been simply trying for a very long time and now they finally look like actual backgrounds I've had a long phase where I avoided doing backgrounds like the pest, and simply smashed together a bunch of textures and add black whenever I don't know how to make it look good, like ArtTrade: Tara Dark

When I did try to do something realistic it would look like this:
Kiribian:.5.000 -1-
or
Starless Night?
and my with my best effort it could turn out looking like Dooodle:...Background-practice which you could achieve by simply mixing together enough plant-pattern brushes.
The main method to learning how to do realistic backgrounds, is to keep trying to draw realistic backgrounds. Me having used shortcuts for so often certainly didn't help me get any better.
Though if you're at a point where you simply don't know how to start, using patterned brushes is certainly a good way to get more familiar with it, you'll be doing good as long as you're doing backgrounds that have some kind of depth in them.
I myself have used this brush pack Vegetals Brushes for plenty of pieces and currently still use whenever I need some extra quick detailing.

And If you're having trouble picking the right colors (which is really important if you haven't been paying it that much mind until now) you can always color pick from photo reference.
Because by using the right colors in the right places, you could make the messiest doodle, but it still would look realistic when squinting at it
seen like a thumbnail this piece looks pretty damn neat does it not? Zoom in and you'll notice the trees are just crooked lines with spray here and there, the "details" in the snow is just blotches of color, and the mountain in the background is just one big block of color, no fancy silhouette, not even a gradient. (I really damn respect people who can do this kinda stuff)
Anyone can certainly draw vertical lines with a big triangle behind them, but with the little extra knowledge on how shadow/lighting works in certain settings (how does shadows look on snow during a sunny morning?) and it'll look amazing

I've derailed a bit, but color theory is something anyone can pick up at any point of their art journey,, and hearing "keep on drawing" doesn't really help

ok last thing: here's a playlist of videos I've found helpful in my art life www.youtube.com/playlist?list=… there are a couple videos there on color too so check them out if you don't know where the heck to look for information. (the other videos have either been motivational, inspirational, or informational on art industry stuff etc, so feel free to glance through to see if anything looks interesting to you)

How my god thank you so much for replying and giving me advices. I wanted to talk more with you about how you learned to draw wolves and other animals etc. but I don't want to bother you anymore. I gonna try  again and again, I have 5 years to catch up and have "the same level of drawing" tha you actually have ^^ (yes I'm 15)

Ayy I'm happy to help in any way possible,, my earliest artwork posted here on dA is from 2011, when I was about 13-14 y/old. Back then I was barely able to post things at a monthly rate, so if you even get to drawing one piece a week, you'd be starting off more productive then I was for a long time! Now imagine how much progress you could make in comparison if you managed to draw everyday or even every second day :0 that's something I'm even now a bit lazy about
