"Daniel, why are you on my head?""'Cuz it's fun! So this is what your world looks like, Olaf?"
Daniel my Litwik and Olaf my Sewaddle are best friends in my game. To the point where Daniel feeds exclusively off of Olaf's life energy, causing his normally purple flame to burn green.
If you have no idea wht I'm talking about here's what the pokedex says:
It will pretend to guide people around, while really using its light to suck away their life force. Litwick shines a light that absorbs the life energy of people and PokΓ©mon, which becomes the fuel that it burns.

So what does Daniel do for Olaf, then? Appears to be a pretty one-sided friendship.

It would be one-sided, except Olaf lets him and is fine with it.
In Olaf's story, his family was slaughtered by a flock of Unfezant. He only survived because he was a runt and was able to sqeeze himself under a thorny bush to protect himself. After realizing he was all alone in the world he became scared and depressed and essentially gave up on life and waited to die. Then my team found him and Daniel gave him someting to live for: keeping him alive. [I understand the litwik line's description as it needs another's life energy to live]. He didn't want to at first, still not thinking that anything he could do really mattered. Despite that, he was in my team and Daniel more then anyone else did his best to befriend him - despite how stubborn Olaf was.
Then one day when Daniel's fire nearly goes out and he nearly dies, Olaf agrees to be Daniel's life force because-despite his stubborness- he really was happy to have Daniel as a friend and didn't want anyone else he cared about to die. Daniel did tell him that other team members were happy to supply him as well, but Olaf didn't want them to.
So Daniel only takes energy from Olaf and it turns his flame green. He has also decided that when Olaf dies, he will too, even though he could essential live forever if he just kept finding new hosts.
And this is why I am never able to restart the game I put too much bacground into my team!
