My cat, Miss Chievous is female, but she'll go after ANY cat that comes in the yard. If she is inside, she will go to the door and cry to be let out so she can beat the snot out of that other cat!
Another story: a couple years ago, two tom cats started a "stare/yowl down" in our backyard in the middle of the night one spring evening. It was very mild, so my window was open and Miss Chievous had a front-row seat. They went at this until dawn when they finally threw down. A metal extension ladder was knocked over in the course of the melee, but they kept at it!
Third story: My brother's cats will hiss at whom ever has been away at the vet's or the groomer's for just a few hours. Lucy Fur will make this godawful noise (I can't describe it in words) like she's dying if another cat comes and looks in the French doors. The youngest one, Dizzy, will actually THROW herself at the doors when this neighbor cat comes by for a visit.

I have yet to see her do that, but my brother talks about what the cats do quite a bit. So I think they give him a lot of free entertainment. But I would hate to hear the noise if his cats were to ever get out and go after that cat!

That's just like my cat!
She sits by the window all the time, and once while I was on the compoopser, I heard her hissing and the thump of her paws hitting the glass. Turns out there was a male orange tabby (much like the stray in this pic, but with Micka's colors.. it was all floofy and cute) and my cat was not happy. It was as close as the stray in this pic too! I let my dog out on him, and now that cat stays away. Or at least near the far fence, to stay out of sight, and also for a quick get away.

Seems to remind me of our cats... (theres 5 of them)
We have a black and white with a black nose, and theres an almost identical black and white but with a PINK nose in the house in front, and they have standoffs...
And then theres the pregnant one who thinks all the other cats of ours are out to get her... and its not just when shes pregnant that shes like that! (this will be her second litter)
And of course the others just rumble... Oh... and the tom-strays are everywhere, interested in Zoe even when shes pregnant... hrmm... gotta keep the poor baby in...
