I don't really hate Lapidot, but it isn't a shipping that really interests me. I think that if we saw some more interaction between Peridot and Lapis, I'd support it, but instead, all we get to see in most of their screentime is arguing eachother, and in fact the only thing they get to interact eachother is when it comes with Steven. The worse part is that not only the Crewuniverse didn't properly developed the two characters, but they also instead rushed their relationship without ever showing how they became friends. It could be the fact that the show masks those writing flaws by using tropes commonly applied on badly written Japanese animation instead of presenting realistic or at least logical character interactions, at least in my opinion. Sorry if you have to read this, is just i really have a hard time understanding the reaction from the fandom.
