Description
The 1982 John Carpenter movie The Thing was shot on Panavision Panaflex Gold cameras with E and C series lenses with a 2.39 aspect ratio (really wide, which is why you get the black bars). The camera was still film, so yeah, I threw some post-process grain to match the movie look on there - that is not an incomplete render. The colors in the blu-ray of the movie also are very vibrant, more so than most people remember, so I tried to remain faithful there too. So I looked up the camera and set limits and values on it as close as I could get to the real thing. So an Inspace image gets a like tonight. My horror work from long ago. I am like what? Okay, since I was watching a documentary on that famous movie today - let's shoot a set from that series with a camera as close as I can get to that film and see what happens. Enjoy.
