Description At first, I thought that black end of the hallway was a mistake - what the heck is going on back there? I hadn't set a background like that and it is just - this void. My mouse crept towards the 'stop render button' and I stopped, realizing what that really was. It was a beautiful flash of inspiration and understanding or a darker place inside my mind where I write stories like Survivor (and others).

Meet the void, the barrier, or the boundary - the line between the joy of life and the darker, painful, more serious parts. You see this come up in fantasy books, such as the Great Wall, the Boundary, and even places like the River Styx. Jess has to be inside my mind to see it, and she does right here.

Donna, for a short moment in time, crossed over into a happy, silly, place inside her creator's mind and never knew it.

See her in Series #3.

That is downright scary and brilliant. Twilight Zone level creepiness!

Thanks. I love how this is lit with the overheads moving towards it and then - nothing. The light on the edge of it is normal, like it should light up a part of that if it was falling off into darkness, but it just stops. What I find fascinating is the concept of a barrier between 'worlds' you cannot see and you don't know you are crossing over. But some people attuned to it can see. This is just foreboding and scary. Like the concept of death being a physical barrier you can cross into and never know.

Donna, with her cringe-worthy business buzzwords and horrible black humor timing in Eli's life, has a bit of the levity and comedy of this side in her.

And having myself try to live in this side's tiny happy part of this world with my characters having silly adventures is fun too.

One of those concepts that makes me rub my face, go on a long walk, and think about the whole concept as a reflection of me.

It explains a lot and I found it by accident.
