U.S.S. Saratoga investigating the Hymer Gas Cloud in 2258, under the command of Commander James.T. Kirk. From late May to early December 2258, Commander James t. Kirk would command the science vessel U.S.S. Saratoga in his first official command posting. His first mission was to investigate a large gas cloud in the Hymer system.
