Bio: Gale is a reserved and shy Alfkak mare. She is well bred and has much potential, being bought for half a million euros at just 3 years old. She is a little short for the average example of her breed, as well as more unsure than her fellow Alfkaks. She has only ever been ridden by Dominique, and wont easily accept a new rider. Nightingale does not like to complain or disappoint, and has often put herself in damaging situations by overworking herself.

Nightingale does best in competitions where the opposition are not in sight, she is easily overwhelmed by other equines, and has had many bad experiences while playing polo. The subtle and quiet grace she carries herself with reflects her potential in the dressage ring.

Bio: Dominique Artigue is from a well established French family, known for their powerful horsemanship. She rode a pony ever since she was 3 years old, and was very inpatient to get her first real bred horse, Nightingale. As a young teenager her father's pressure to compete did not stress her, but as the levels of competition grew, Dominique grew tired of his persistence. Her older brother was a successful equestrian, and she was expected to be even more so. Her young horse has potential, but the rate at which she was being forced to progress was taking a toll on her. Even at supposedly relaxing family polo weekends, Gale was taken to her absolute limit, and Dominique began to resent the equestrian world for what it was doing to her horse.

After Nightingale had a particularly bad collapse one event, Dominique refused to ride competitively any more. She thought that was the end of it, however her father was not one to be defied. One morning Dominique woke up to find her beloved Alfkak riding away in a trailer, she'd been sold to an auction house without her knowledge. She was filled with anguish, because the horse was of course not actually hers, she had no money to her name, and her wealth was all because of her family. But she felt the betrayal had crossed the line, and in an emotional rage she set off with a simple backpack, and ran away from home.

Dominique later found Gale again, almost being sold for meat at a livestock auction. She spent the last of her money buying her back, then took her with her away from her home and family. Now Dominique aims to use her skill in riding to be scouted by an equestrian centre, wherever that centre may be.
