Description
1. Paper Mache over half of a 10" ball. Did about 15 layers.2. Trace out position for eye holes & cut out using a box cutter/scalpel. I had to keep sticking in the napkin rings to make sure I got them big enough.
3. Put in napkin rings/whatever you use and superglue down
4. Apply bevels with paperclay
5. Coat everything with paperclay. If there are gaps between the napkin rings and the mask (and there should be), fill them with paperclay. After it dries, sand everything down until smooth, including bevels.
NOTE: I actually recommend switching steps 4 & 5.
6. Spray paint everything with red.
7. Paint eye-holes and bevels with acrylic paint.
8. Antique with wood stain/any kind of antiquing stain/paint.
And then of course SEAL IT! I sealed this project with a matte spray so that it maintained that worn look.
