Description
This is the mysterious Mayuri painting I never really said much about.I like it.
I'm thinking maybe one day I'll make a print of it. That'd be cool. This pic went through a lot of stages, but I think that's a good thing.
Did the digital painting with a bigger focus on learning lighting. Lighting is such an important element and I need to experiment with it more. I rarely even give it much consideration and that's why I'm not as happy with things as a result. I think this went fairly good. Yay woot.
Thanks to who helped me with this loads and whose Bleach prints were a big inspiration.

(im a drafty, so im always picky on lighting)
this would be a pretty hard to actually produce, since there are multiple light sources, in slivers as well, but as what you put it would be a little to the right, distant from him.

The lighting on this gave me a headache, and I am inexperienced with it, it was hard to not give up. Overall do you find the lighting works for this?

i remember seeing him once without all the well 'make-up' i guess after Uryuu put that huge arrow through his stomach. I think this captures his dark and heroic side at the same time and good choice on the title

yeah his funky blue hair was awesome i think he should go around with just his uniform rather then all his 'make-up' he'd look pretty awesome, a lot less evil though

You know, even though I saw just about every working stage on this thing, you were right when you said that the finalised version would be a surprise, because WOW. Seeing it all together, it's just absolutely epic, which was what you intended. The lighting is absolutely incredible--those shadows are rendered very well. The light trails look even better than the versions I saw--it looks like you've added to them, giving them a much more desired effect. The CGing itself is just absolutely envy-inducing...honestly, the details and the colouring are top-notch.
I must say...*sniffle*...you've made me proud! This giant mug of tea is for you!
