Summer means more than relentless heat and long days, it also means going down to the local Dock Dogs club for training and trials! For two of our dogs, Tim and Malamar, this is their real time to shine!

On their off hours Tim's other focus is as a show dog who dabbles in herding, while Malamar and the other Retrievers take their visits to the field in Fall. Normally they are just another face in the crowd, but on the docks all the attention is on them! Malamar is the faster of the two by a few seconds and tends to get greater distance than Tim as well. Smooth Collies can be very athletic and agile dogs though as a somewhat heavier breed he's at a slight natural disadvantage. Both of them are in excellent condition and train regularly either at the club or with rotations on the treadmill at home, so they are always in prime shape for whenever competition calls! Over the years they've come out as top dogs in a few trials and earned their titles of distinction.
