Thank you for those words, very kind. I'm not getting any younger, and time passes so fast. Many of my images contain a lot of nostalgia, kind of sadness too. Memories of what I have experienced, hoping that my sons could experience these things too. And thinking of how fragile nature is, and how easily it can be destroyed. I'm very pleased if I'm sometimes able to pass something of these emotions to the viewer through my paintings.

oh, i hear you - i think we're in the same boat...
when i think of all those many times i was underway alone out there in the forest, even at night (which is quite unusual over here) - experiences you couldn't possibly get another way... yes, sitting endlessly by the pond, watching all those little creatures in there... *sighs*
please look here - i made this when i was about 11/12 years...

i tried to pass along as much as i could of that to my daughter - she's 11 now and knows much more about nature than most of her age, and she's a very good tracker - i like to call her "eagle eye", haha...
i'm a lot into music and i've always tried to sing about these things and experiences - it's not easy, because most people find it boring - they want to hear love songs...
if you note me your e-mail i could send you one or another song i recorded... it's a pity that i haven't recorded my latest songs yet - i have been quite ill, but could still play my keyboard and sing - somehow i must have touched an "inner waterfall", haha - songs came pouring out of me like water lately - many of them with mostalgic memories just like you say of your pictures... i'm just prepairing to record again now i'm slowly recovering and will hopefully soon start to...
and i would like to invite you to read my last journal, if you like - some thoughts about nature, every day life with the animals around us...
hey, nice to meet you...

Great stuff! I have also listened to your music, and I'd definitely like to hear some more! Sorry to hear about your troubles - hope you get better soon.
And I'll send you a note.
Nice to meet you too!

thank you...
oh, i'm much better already, and in a good healing tendency, thanx for your good wishes...
now i'm having trouble with my mailbox - since quite a while i couldn't send any pictures or music with it and since yesterday it breaks down completely when i try to log in - whatever shit that is...
grrr - i hope i can solve that problem somehow - but we'll stay in contact don't we...

Absolutely! I'm hanging here every now and then, and my Facebook page, and my blog (not so often for the moment).

yes, but it's one thing i like about the net - you can answer whenever you feel to - if the one at the other end knows about this, it's easy going - no urge...
in my case i really have trouble with the connection here - for days i couldn't get into the net at all - well, now it works and now i don't have much time, haha - this world is crazy.......
but, hey, i found the secret formula here on dA - this is how it works:
to be continued........

hey, today i found an incredible, remarkable gallery which might interest you as well - i will surely go again there and dig for more treasures...

i think you recognize the art of a nature lover, when you can smell the air by looking at the pictures - i suppose you know what i mean - in this case it's in almost every painting...

I took a look at aldembutcher's page, and absolutely: a lot of creativity, and productivity, and love for nature - that's for sure.Β

yepp...
i read many of his comments and feel a bitterness shining through, concerning the use of technology - oh, i had this for quite a long time, but now i changed my view a little - i have to be fair: i'm so happy to have digital devices, be it in arts/photography or in music or be it the net... i couldn't correspond with you for instance, i couldn't watch aldembutcher's art... i'm very fascinated to communicate with people around the world just like that... i have a good dA friend in new york - the other day i asked her what was going on at the place where the twin towers used to be - hey, the next day she went there and took some photos for me and showed me, haha, so cool...
and last year i bought me a new music programme for 100,- euro - it's a whole f... studio! before, you had to pay 1000s and had the complete room full of stuff - now it's one cd... this is incredible...
a long time ago i read in a book about indian zodiac signs - it said there are three for every one: one animal, one plant, one mineral... there i learned, that my roll was to make a bridge between new developments and the old traditions - i forgot about that only to find out many years later, that this is exactly what i am after - i always tend to combine traditional ways with new technology...
btw. my e-mail account seems to work again - i'll send you a song in which you can hear this - i drum on tin cans and use cheapy keyboards, cut them up digitally, but still bring in kind of almost soapy old fashioned melodies - it's all in one...

I like the movement of the birds but the black part up right is kinda irritating

Yes, you are probably right. I have several versions the painting, in some the stone in the background is more visible, in one I took it away all together. I might update this one later. Thanks.
