After graduating from high school, I worked at a ranch near my hometown for a while, and that's where I met Andrew. We became good friends and work partners until I left for college.

It has been four years since I last saw him. He still works at the ranch, but now he looked... different. At least the last time I saw him, he didn't have hooves.

We went for a stroll in the nearby forest, with me riding a horse and Andrew walking beside me. In the past, he would have ridden his favorite horse, Joey, but that doesn't seem necessary now.

Curiosity got the better of me, I tried to ask him what happened, but he seemed reluctant to tell.

"A lot happened. It was confusing at first, but I got used to it. I enjoy it now. I feel free, powerful, and complete."

He patted his equine body.

"Joey is happy too."

It was then that I noticed a dark brown patch on Andrew's equine back, in the same position and size as I remembered Joey's.
