nah, you didn't failed. the fact you had no reference only means you created your own interpretation of Riful, which gave something interesting. The touch of gore is pretty claymor-ish

Her eyes are secretive yes, but that's the way Riful is! Love the blood, the texture and the colour of the background actually suits Riful there. You do convey her well.
