My final project for my cake decorating class. Four tier wedding cake.

The unofficial name of this cake: Black and White and Red All Over

All real cake. Buttercream frosting only, no fondant here! Roses are gumpaste, all made by me at home. The fancy damask patterns were airbrushed with a stencil I hand cut. The thin acetate fluttered even with the air pressure on low, so the edge lines are not as crisp as I desired, but oh well. The more swirly designs were freehanded with icing.

I donated this cake (minus the flowers) to a local homeless shelter after it had it's mandatory display days at my school .
