Ever consider doing a series of real animals in statues too? I bet you would just as awesome at it as you are with mythological creatures. Beautiful drawing by the way.

I would love to. I have been occasionally doing a few " pebble" animals. These are smooth, rounded real animal shapes. So far I've done canines a cougar and a pony. I try to stick to very popular animals. Not sure tapirs and stuff like that would sell very well!

I can understand the need to stay with what's popular. Maybe you could ask your fans what kind of animals they would like to see as statues.

I do sometimes paint a piece, like a flap cat, to look like somebody's cat so I guess I do portraits, in a way!

That was what I was thinking. Do statues of people's pets as a real animal series. Not sure if you would want to do those on commission or just by picking one from a picture online.

We have a Paint-your-own winged cat, so folks can paint them as their own cat, and I have been planning to make regular ( no winged) cats as Paint-your-owns too. It seems like it would be more fitting to have the person who knows their cat really well paint them.
I do sometimes use peoples' pet photos as a reference when painting just for fun.

That's a good idea. Maybe someday I'll buy one and paint it to resemble our cat Fancy, who passed away last year. Right now I'm saving what money I have for bill paying. I did put your book on my wish list as soon as you announced it was on Amazon. It will be a while, but I'll definitely buy it.
