Description
I airbrushed and hand painted this Pegasus mare with acrylic paint to resemble a "real" quagga, though it is hard to tell what color quaggas were from the information I have found: black and white photos, faded taxidermy mounts and hand drawn illustrations. They probably varied in color and markings, like most everything else does.
I paint two kinds: The ones I call REAL quaggas have a dark face, with thin light stripes.
The reconstructed quaggas have bold black and white zebra striped heads and shoulders with a brownish body ( I think they look more like Buchell's zebras than quaggas)
I love both kinds.
This is a gypsum reproduction of my original sculpture produced by Windstone editions. She is about 5 1/2 inches long.

Dazzling! I love the quagga, and its unique markings make for a special type of pegasus!
