You know, I have always been curious about having a gecko as a pet.
Are they worth it?
Like, do they attach to you like a dog?
I have zero knowledge in dealing with reptiles, only geckos call my attention

They are amazing animals and can make very rewarding pets. Are they the same as a cat or dog?, no. They are different but thats one of many things that make them great. Many keepers love there reptiles as much as any dog or cat. You need to research and understand there care first before deciding if right for you. There is lot of info out there as they are popular pets.
