Description Thank you to my sister for inspiring me to finish a pencil sketch-up of Artistik Arabians' barn facility.

Empty boxes = stalls

A simple, but efficient, two-story barn with 10 stalls divided into 2 wings, with ample room for adjacent office space and horse care facilities (tack & feed rooms, wash & grooming stalls) located on the first floor, and an expansive loft with excess room for bedding, storage and miscellaneous located on the second floor.    Classic sliding barn end doors are at each of the four main entrances to the building, as well as the loft access.  Large horse stalls, with European-styled interior doors, provide ventilation and comfort for the horses, and open directly to paddock pastures through wooden dutch doors.  The barn, trimmed in stonework, is connected to the Indoor Arena by a covered walkway through the North entrance – as NW Washington is renowned for its year-round rainfall.

Our Guest Barn is similarly designed, to provide ample amenities for guests and visitors during our hosted shows.

Drawn with pencil/ruler (this part took far far longer than it should have), texture and "Artistik Arabians" text added in PS, tree clipart from Google.

American Style barn

I'm a big fan of stable layouts, too, and I really like how you did this. From an architectural point of view, the design is simple and effective and I really like the big central aisles From an artistic point of view, the little 3D perspective image of the outside is just stunning. HOW. It must have taken you an age, but it looks great!

Really nice to see some of your barn/stable. I can't wait to see more of it! ^^

Yep, sadly American-style is really the only kind I'm familiar with (and easy enough to research for inspiration).

I liked the idea of huge center isles as well.

I knew how I wanted this "simple" design to look... but I spent almost 2 days working on it.    Architecture is not my "thing" and it took me forever to sketch out a design I liked, and then fine tune and go old-school with a pencil and ruler.  It's almost amazing how long I can spend on something that looks so... simple.

Maybe now I'll wait another year before I tackle the grounds layout.

And thanks, I'm really glad you likes it.

I love the style of your barn layout! It is nicely showing how the building looks from outside and introducing interior spaces nicely as well.
In addition of being informative, this is also an art piece itself! Must love the texture, font and tree you have added as decorations.

Thank you dahling!  I had a lot of fun trying to put this together and make the stables come to life just a little more.  And I'm really glad you think it shows off the interior/exterior structures nicely... while staying "artsy."

Thanks so much.  I've always been fond of the traditional weather vane look, so I simply couldn't resist here.
