Description
Harshly awakened from hibernation (sometimes with gasoline),Captured for a long time without food and water,
Collected in tanks,
Stressed because of people,
Their venom will milked,
Scaled (the catcher with the biggest rattlesnake gets the money),
Living Endstation: Beheading///
But that's still not the end.
Adults and children like to watch how snakes are killed and take their skin off. After work, humans lubricat their hands with rattlesnake's blood to print their hand prints on a wall.
That's the way, which rattlesnakes have to go through for three days or shorter. Also this weekend again begins the blackest day of the Rattlesnakes World in Texas, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma.
"That doesn't matter. Rattlesnakes have no intelligence,"organizer of Rattlesnake Roundups said. Is the rattlesnake the only creatur which is not a living characterised animal without feelings?
Children learn on this event that it is okay to torture an animal this way. Is this really fun to treat animals this way which have a long painful way until they die while people are laughing?
It's a hard truth, but Rattlesnake Roundups ARE animal torture.
But YOU can help:
Avoid Rattlesnake Roundups which kill animals for fun! There are better alternatives to teach about these animals without harming them!

Indeed. It's a shame.
If you wanna help somehow, you could give assistance to groups, who are against "Rattlesnake Roundups" like "Rise against Rattlesnake Roundups" (RARR) organisated by Orry Martin and teach people that they can live with snakes and to learn to respect them. Or the new festival "Texas Venom Experience". ( www.facebook.com/events/172482… ). The best way is still, never to visit a Roundup and to explain people why and that there are other ways to learn about that animals instead to harm them like this.

Yes, I agree, these rattlesnake roundups are unnecessary cruelty.

Thanks for comment.
Some organisations try to give other events with education about these animals without killing them. Or you can sign a petition to change Roundups into animal friendly festivals.

Я знаю эти вещи , они ужасны...
У нас порой специально убивают змей. Считаются как вредителями...

Indeed. It is a bad example for kids and for the world.
Are in Russia also a lot of people who hate snakes? I mean, to kill wild life snakes?
In Germany it is forbidden to kill or to catch wild life snakes.

I understand you very good. The most people in Germany would not kill a snake in wild life, because the animals are very shy and become rare. But a lot of people have pet snakes, and other people can be afraid to think a snake is in their house.
Well, the Roundups will start tomorrow.
Here a little video of a rattlesnake rescue to be not so sad this weekend:

Yeah, I know that these kind of things are bad. That was a while ago when I went to one-I'm not gonna go to another one.

Thanks for your help. The best way to stop them is never to visit this kind of event. If you really want to learn about the animals look for an organisation, which teaches about them without killing them.

I know exactly why these things are still happening-because a good chunk of people in Oklahoma and Texas (and wherever else Rattlesnake Roundups happen) still have the mentality that snakes are no good, and that the world is better off if every single snake species went extinct. It's the whole "the only good snake is a dead snake" mentality-I've been planning on getting a ball python to prove my whole family wrong (I am the only person in my family who loves snakes, and they have actually told me to never get a snake since it will kill me and always bite)

Well, in Germany a lot of people don't like snakes, too. But it's absolutely forbidden to kill or to catch them here. The best way is to use our pet snakes to show them that snakes aren't monsters. For my family, snakes aren't their favorites, but they have no problem with them.
I try to give private courses about snakes to take away the fear of these animals.
If you want to buy a ball python, it's a good chance to show your family the opposite of the bad image. I hope you will find a way.

Thing is, in Texas, it seems like if you want to be accepted you have to hate snakes; I've always loved snakes, and that's usually been a source of bullying or prejudice (especially from those religious nutcases who think that snakes are just demons). I've talked to a good number of farmers who actually accept that the snakes of all species are good for them in controlling mice and rat populations-yet have also said that they would rather have a hundred rats than one snake on their property. Not to mention that the whole "they'll kill you in one bite" thing is now kinda redundant-there's antivenom that's strong enough to even save a child if taken in on time (my brother had a friend who was bitten by surprise on the hand from a well hidden western diamondback-even when the emergency helicopter came, it was an hour, and his whole hand was "dark purple". Still, he lived with relatively minor nerve damage to his arm-he had to skip the final month of school to recover).

Thanks for your reply. Of course, their venom is dangerous, but to hate a snake because of this is like similar if a dog would bite you. Would it be the best way to hate all dogs? Well, the most people hate not just venomous snakes but all snakes. Well, to be serious the snakes lived first in this country before humans came. Normally it is their right to live there like their forebears always did. There is still a long, hard way to make people clear, humans and snakes can live in connection. But some people begin to think way fortunately.
Here a nice video of a rattlesnake rescue.

Again, tell that to the dumb fucks who think that they're heroes for butchering snakes by the hundreds, not giving a flying fuck that they're destroying the environment (hell I bet those fuckers would want to nuke anyone who disagreed with them, or anyone they hate).
...Sorry, I'm regretting going to that Rattlesnake Roundup, and am pretty upset...

I understand your anger. For this reason we have the chance to sign petitions to try to change Roundups into animal friendly festivals. Everyone can give his voice like here:
Text: www.biologicaldiversity.org/ca…
Petition: action.biologicaldiversity.org…
It is one of many petitions but it is a try. It would help if a lot of people know that there are petitions. Well, there is not garantee for success, but every voice could count.
Another way is too talk about snakes and resolve misunderstandings about these animals. Or to visit rattlesnake friendly festivals like this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVDb0k… ; Best alternative!

Yes, indeed. I painted this pic with tears, but I can't keep the truth for myself.
I can't watch videos about Roundups anymore. This attacks my emotions too deep.
Now the snakes will have a painful way this weekend for three days. We should pray for them. But I think we have more to regret the human's behavior.
