This is by far the best birthday gift I ever made. First try at drawing with no lines and first REAL try to "Painted" Style. This beast took me at least 4 hours to complete and I am so proud of how it came! You know, patience it's not my strongest point but music can actually help! To be honest, I got pretty excited and motivated while listening to Gangnam Style xDThis is the gift for my cousin, my little bro who I love so much and while he is not into Sonic, I'm sure he's going to like it.
For all of you that are curious. This pic was made by the use of two tools Warning! Paint Tool SAI mini tutorial!, the Brush Tool and the Eraser Tool. For the Brush just change the density every now and then so you can control the pressure. I worked with 20, 50 and 100% percent. As for the Eraser, one with the density in 20% is the best.
Sometimes, a Trip to a Forest is all you need to enjoy life.

Hi! I was just passing through when i noticed this work of yours; I just had to check it out- I hope you don't mind me putting too huge of an input, though!
I really love the way to painted in the background; it's very bright and vivid and the combination of the brush strokes and color choice/contrast make it very beautiful to look at. To be honest it's my favorite part of this! ^^
The contrast is colors for Sonic and how you used warm/cool colors to add lighting and shadow instead of making the base color brighter/darker is a nice touch, too! However, I guess Sonic himself is where a bit of things get thrown off to me. Some parts of him seem a bit rigid and a tad unfinished (for instance, the forming of is arm, with the abrupt sharp lines and wobbliness), and at times it feels like the perspective of his hand that's pointing forward is off and it's hard to tell where his other leg is. I'm not too sure on where the light source is, but I feel that if you stuck with an idea of where light is bouncing off of him, you'd come up with some fab results. ^^
Overall, though, I do love this piece! Just keep in mind to take into consideration rechecking certain things as you go, and I'm sure you'll do awesome! X3

Recently I've been trying to paint my pics with whole different colors and contrasts, just to expand my color use on future pics.Because I'm learning by myself I want my pics to be excelent, not only in quality but also in color input. Because I don't understand the Color Theory (and I'm too lazy to understand it XD) I always try to see which colors will complement great with another ones!
Thank you for the advice! I'll try to not make my bodies (or in this case, Sonic) not too sharp and more smooth. Practice it's the key after all!

Well, it's great to know you're trying to find out what colors go well with one another! I'll admit I struggle with Color Theory a lot of the time, but I will say it's worth knowing at least the basics of it! It can help out a lot. ^^
Again, not a problem! I'd say that unless it's a conceptual, intended choice, I would recommend to stay away from jagged lines when it comes to defining something.

I really like the blue shading on his gloves, and the background is awesome! Personally, I think that the shading/lighting is the best part of this peice.
