Background:

Born in Umbrella's Medical Center on May 17, 1982 to Jonathan and Elizabeth DeWall. Her father John was working with the virus FE-13. A virus made derived from Feline DNA mixed with Progenitor Virus. It was to create a “Super Solider”, with all the strengths of felines; extreme flexibility, superb hearing, ability to see in the dark and the ability to always land on your feet and so forth. So far in the experimentation, it gave the infected the strengths AND weaknesses of felines; fear of large bodies of water, fear of dogs, etc. Further experimentation was being done to work out the kinks and get rid of the weaknesses.
Elizabeth was John’s wife and partner. In her 3rd month of pregnancy she found out her unborn child was near death and close to a miscarriage. Refusing the doctors efforts to abort her sickly unborn child, Elizabeth thought that the FE-13 virus might give her unborn child the strength to live. So she carefully injected the virus in herself. Umbrella took swift action and orders were given to examine her. The virus greatly improved the fetus’s health, but it made Elizabeth herself extremely sick. Elizabeth died a few hours after childbirth. Higher ups decided to let the child live, keeping close tabs on her childhood, to see what the virus did to her. All other experiments on FE-13 were closed. John was reassigned to the Underground Raccoon City lab branch of “Tyrant-Virus” research.

Aurora Lin DeWall lived a normal childhood. The only physical effect of FE-13 was the yellow cat-like eyes, thus giving her the nickname "Kat". (Which she personally didn’t care for)
She also developed some Feline traits. Since the FE-13 was not yet completed she got the strengths and weakness. Such as her extreme flexibility, hearing, ability to see in the dark, fear of large bodies of water, fear of dogs, love of fish and milk, and the ability to always land on her feet.
While attending Raccoon City High she was a Track and Field star, her strongest point being running. Some Umbrella Scientists think it may be linked to the FE-13 infection.

Later the Raccoon City Outbreak happened. Aurora was 16 years old. She was home when it started. When she saw news reports on what was going on, and her father had not yet come home, she decided to go look for him. She soon was met with a T-virus carrier. After escaping from harm she dodged and darted her way through to a local gun store where she met Leon S. Kennedy. (She arrived just after the owner of the shop, Robert Kendo had died) .Aurora had no previous experience with guns, other than a past hunting trip with a friend. Leon took the time to show her how to fire and reload a handgun. She learned quickly and become a decent shot.

She followed those events, and later found her father dying deep in the Underground research facilities. He was infected with the T-Virus. Her father confessed to his position at Umbrella and before dying her told her the whereabouts of files on FE-13. After saying his last tearful goodbyes with his daughter, he asked Leon to kill him before he turned. Leon carried out John’s last final request. After a few moments of grieving, they continued on.

Later, Aurora was bitten by a carrier on her left leg. She found out she was immune to the T-Virus. FE-13 terminated T-Virus. This is something Umbrella has taken a certain interest in.

Making it out of Raccoon City with Leon, Claire Redfield and Sherry Birkin, Aurora became one of the few Raccoon City survivors. When Claire went off to find Chris, Aurora stayed with Leon and Sherry until the government caught them. The government was going to take Aurora along with Sherry into protective custody; until they found out she was infected with a virus. After various testing to make sure she was not a danger to the general public, they decided to recruit her as Leon’s partner at the young age of 16.

[I have not yet played Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, so I’m not very knowledgeable on the “Operation Javier” scenario. As soon as I do, I will include that in Aurora’s bio]

In 2004, Aurora was sent with Leon to Spain to look for the President's missing daughter Ashley Graham. While there, Aurora and Leon were infected with the La Plaga Parasite. FE-13 could not kill La Plaga, but it did fight it. It caused Aurora great amounts of pain, where she went into an almost seizure-like episode. Later La Plaga was removed.

Aurora also accompanied Leon to the “Harvardville Airport” incident.

Aurora's current whereabouts are unknown. But we assume she is still working with Leon.

Aurora is most known for her flaring temper. She is often very stubborn and headstrong. She normally does not like to be helped, preferring to do things herself. She tries to prove herself to be just as good as her male co-workers. She hates to be stereotyped as "Just a girl".

In the workplace she is often the life of the party, though she can be shy around people she doesn't know well. When on a mission she is generally very calm and collected.

The FE-13 virus didn’t give her any sort of extra strength. She’s fairly average strength-wise, so she relies on her speed and agility while fighting.

Aurora doesn't smoke, having allergies to tobacco. (Whether that is a result of the FE-13 virus, no one really knows) But she does enjoy having a beer or two and likes taking shots of Whiskey at the local bar.

If you happen to become friends with her she will be very loyal. She often puts other before herself, which can be a good and bad thing.
