Description
After my last gerbil died (the 5th one in 7 years) I decided no more small furry heartbreakin critters for me. I took the terrarium and its stand out of my room...but i realized that there was now a very disturbing blank space. I tried moving different things there to fill it up but it just wasn't the same....So i started thinking. My mom hates snakes and rats and mice, so those were out. And fish...well fish were just boring and they die too easily. Two of my nephews had purchased geckos in the last year, so I thot 'Hey, they have been saying nice things about um...why not?' So I decided that that was what i was getting, and using my gift of easy persuasion I got mom in on the agreement. For the past week I've been looking into everything gecko to prepare myself...and now I find myself suddenly obsessed..>_<. I got 4 gecko sites on my favorites list, I could tell you from memory the proper housing arrangements and temperatures...its quite sad. Anyways...to get to the picture...lol. A product of massive 'schools out' boredom and gecko manic...For my first reptile I think it turned out pretty good! I did have to use a photo reference though...but hey I'm new, lol.Related content

Yes it's quite good for a first reptile !
I'm in the same situation than you are ! I've started thinking about getting myself a pet and I already had a hamster and a guinea pig, and in all honestly, I thought they stinked and they made lots of noise. So I opted for a reptile, and my choice fell upon a gecko leopard.
I didn't buy it yet (gonna wait 'till January) but I do know the temperatures needed, the hides.... and I too have got plenty of gecko leopard websites in my favourites

Wow, that's beautiful. The scales, and eyes are so realistic. Well, actually, the whole picture is entirely realistic! Nice, very well done!

It looks awesome When will you be getting your gecko? I had two little anoles that I won playing one of those games at the fair where you toss a little ball into those glass cup-things. One of 'em died a week after I got them, and the other lived for almost two years.

Thanks! That reminds me of a story of three goldfish I won once. 1 died but the other two lived for years. They got huge! We had to put them in the pond outside...it was crazy. XD Anywho, when I will get it is undecided. Hopefull next weekend....

Wow! Leopard geckos are just everywhere today! I was just on the phone with my friend talking about her leopard geckos, and then right when I came on DA the first recent deviation was a photograph of a leopard gecko, and now I see this amazing drawing of a leopard gecko! It must be a sign! Great job on the eyes and skinly skin. Looks awesome.
