For the last three days this little guy has spent the mornings hanging around our front window. Our poor cat wants to get him so bad. It's actually kind of sad.Related content

Ooh! My state bird! I saw a brown one the other day and was so confused. I see them every year, but I can't remember ever seeing a brown one...
Squirrels do the same thing to my dog. She'll run along the back edge of the fence chasing and barking at them as they run along the top. It's pretty funny to watch when she jumps at the fence trying to reach them! I know they're teasing her because they could just keep running along to our neighbor's fence, but they turn around and run on our fence over and over. (We live in a townhouse end unit, so the backyard fences are all connected along the back.)

The females are brown-ish. Maybe the one you saw was a female? 
My female cat actually bolted out the door, trying to chase him. Luckily she stopped at the edge of our porch when she realized she wasn't going to catch him.

That makes sense.
My dog does the same thing, but there's a fence to stop her from going too far. She named at a possum that was on our fence once. That was a nightmare! I had to figure out how to get close enough to grab the dog but stay far enough away so that the possum wouldn't use my face as a scratching post...
