Sometimes, Adrea's luck runs out.Continuing the End of the Road series, I am enjoying making these. Hope your enjoying them as well.

Adrea had come far and fought hard, but the forces of the Gron collective had finally caught up with her. And now, being pinioned to the spot by a Gron-hybrid, the very bane of her life was striding toward her. Monitor-Primary Dekka stopped several paces from Adrea.
"Regretfully, Specimen-Adrea, Master Vakker of the Gron Collective has concluded your project to have been a costly failure." the droid stated in his formal, unemotional way. "And has tasked me personally with your termination."
"My project? You mean my LIFE, droid!" she spat at the automaton.
Dekka lifted his pistol to aim at the girl's head. "Do not attempt to struggle, Specimen-Adrea! Your termination must be swift, as to insure you do not suffer.
Filled with both terror and rage, Adrea screamed. Out of nowhere, a terrific and mysterious shockwave burst from Adrea's form, propelling both the hybrid and droid through the air for some twenty feet away. The shockwave had damaged Dekka internal circuitry.
The Gron-hybrid was the first to recover. It rushed after the young human, but Adrea, guided by some unknown instinct wave her arm, and generated another telepathic shockwave which flung the creature, a second time, toward the hull of the landing craft. Then pushing her hand sharply forward, the hybrid froze to the spot and juddered hideously. It clutched for its head, which then imploded. Its lifeless body collapsed to the sandy ground.
Furiously, Adrea then turned on the droid. The droid which had nurtured her from infancy. Had educated her as she grew into a woman. And the droid which had dispassionately tortured her on the orders of its Gron masters.
Monitor-Primary Dekka struggled to stand. AdreaΒ thrust both her hands forward, and the servos in Dekka's arms and legs started to whine and strain. Sparks fizzeled from out of the droid's joints, then he collapsed on to the sandy earth. The droid's fleshy face gazed up to regard the girl whose life he had been tasked with for almost twenty years.
"It would appear that Master Vakker's assessment was in error!" the droid stated in a tone which almost sounded like genuine surprise.
Adrea jabbed her forefinger toward the droid, and sparks exploded from its eyes, rendering him sightless. His response to his loss of vision was, as ever, infuriatingly calm.
"Were you to refrain from terminating me, Specimen-Adrea, we could return together to Darlis and assure Master Vakker of your project's success."
Adrea gave a bitter laugh, despite the tears in her eyes. "Go back?....To what? Being a slave?"
"Specimen-Adrea! You have much potential. But you have always been hndered by emotion. You were never a slave to the Gron. No more than I , or any Monitor-droid, or Specimen-hybrids. We are weapons and tools. Not slaves. And being removed from any emotion-based weakness, we are freer than you will ever know!"
Adrea spat into the dust. "No, droid! You will never know true freedom. Do not presume to lecture me about it!"
She than thrust her hand sharply at the Monitor-Primary's head, which exploded into sparks and flames. The synthetic flesh burned and the droid went silent forever.
Adrea watched the droid burn through the tears in her eyes. She wiped them from her face and turned toward the landing craft. She trudged through the sand until her barefeet felt that intense cold of the metallic foot-ramp of the landing craft. The Gron would continuously pursue her, and Adrea had many light-years to traverse to evade them.
