Having survived the suicide of my father when I was a child, I don't imagine the pain you're feeling. I KNOW the pain you're feeling. My heart cries for you, friend. I'm so sorry for your loss.

my friend was 21, would have turned 22 this June.
i really felt sorry for her mom. he was the youngest of 4 siblings.
a promising kid. been a good child and brother.
very intelligent. charming. kind.
and has always been there to believe in what i do.

I was 6 years old when my father committed suicide. I'll be 40 this year. Growing up without him left a hole in my life that's never been filled, but the time has softened the edges. I send my condolences to your friend's family. Although his suffering has ended, theirs has just begun. I will hold hope for them, and you, that you all find a place that keeps grief at bay and brings about healing solace.
Your piece is very powerful, as are your words. If you ever need someones shoulder, you've got it. (Strangers sometimes make the best sounding boards.)

you know, the eyes in this picture reminded me of the way my cousin drew all her character's eyes (she always said she could never get the white parts right, so she just left them out)
she committed suicide last may, and it'll never be the same without her...
i hate seeing someone else go through something like this, I know everyone's hearts who sees this are with you

i remembered those times when he would joke on my whining, complaining how tiring doing illustrations and stuff, he would always say, "have you had enough of that? let me finish that for you".
he was not good at drawing. i was teaching him how to paint using watercolor. he really enjoyed doing it.
