And to think that this piece started out as a detailed sketch on a McDonald's napkin. This is basically the realization that my art looks better when it's hand-drawn, which how allowed me to "enter the next level" of my art evolution. I decided to use a reference to the artwork of Sonic CD's anime FMV cutscenes and based his appearance on that, with his pose coming from the 1996 OVA. I also used the Sonic XG's title card bar.
