This one is actually inspired by the movie Charlies Angels
kind of a crappy movie if you don't consider tha babes in it 
....anyhow, about a year ago I watched the movie and heard the song "Barracuda" by "Heart". Funny song which I kind of like. I printed a few photos of barracudas at work, but never started working on a painting. This winter/spring however I found the prints again and I began to paint.
Spent a great deal of time on this, and really hated it and thought it was crap which I always do when I work on something for too long
Guess I think it's kind of ok now.

I like the way you get the composition using the light and the position of your model obtaining an interesting effect of rythm and dinamic. No more, no less yo did exactly what you had to do!!

My favourite fish. I've seen these guys down in the Bahamas following the party boats because of people throwing food and attracting their prey fish,they are absolutely huge.
And one of the most ugliest animals I have ever seen.
But however, whenever I see a picture of one it reminds me of being in the tropics.

It's quite a nice little fish painting and I like it a lot. Perhaps if you attempt something this sort again with a black background give it just a slight variation in lightness so it might look like a deep sea place or underwater at night. Just for a sense of depth.

Actually it a very dark blue which turns a little lighter on the right side. Guess it got lost when i scanned it.
It's a bad scan, I'll get a better one.

I'm not 100% sure that its a fact. But, almost all of their other songs are serious so, this one is probably supposed to be serious.

You painted that? Wow, it's amazing! I love to swim with these guys when I'm diving, and you really captured them. The pose, shine and shading/depth are all fantastic. ^_^

Yeah, if I see 'em when I'm diving, that's where my attention is until they swim off.
I don't actually live near cudas either. I go diving twice a year, but I'm getting ready to move for college, yay! So then I'll get to see more of them.

That's true, they do dry fast. I've been thinking of buying me one of those beginner-sets for oil painting for quite a while now.
It's nice to have a break now and then.
Btw. I think veteran acrylics painters (?) has some tricks to make the colors dry slower. That's what I've heard, don't know how though
