This is so true! I wonder why people keeps creating them... I've fallen for a lot (8 or more) and I have some tricks to them.
1. Read the title. If it talks about ghosts, supernatural things, optical illusions, tells you to listen or look carefully or even very popular videos (trailers or something like that) it'll probably be a screamer.
2. See the lenght of the video. If it's short, be careful.
3. (Only on Youtube or any other site to watch videos) Enter the suspicious video and QUICKLY PAUSE IT! Take your time to read the comments and the author's comments and look for anything that tells you that it's a screamer (tags or keywords are helpful too)
4. If the comments are disabled, stay with the video paused until it charges completely. Move the page down to be able to see only the half of the video. Move the lever of reproduction to see different parts of the video and search for the face.
5. Look at the related videos. If you see "ghost car", "Relaxe", "Optical Illusions" you know, be careful.
6. And as your last resource, you can ask someone that is not affected by screamers to watch it for you and then tell you if it has a pretty friggin' gross face screaming to you or not.
And don't trust every link or Powerpoint thingy. Here's a link to the Wikipedia site with a list of screamers. There are a lot: [link] [It's not a screamer, seriously!]

not the maze version, it was actually a car commercial on youtube called "ghost car" and it showed a chevy (IDK cars very well) driving across a valley and then *blaaaaaaaaauuuuuuugggghhhhh*

I've been traumatized by a screamer once...The first one I ever saw...Didn't sleep the first night...Had trouble sleeping the next few nights...Finally, I started leaving the radio on while I sleep to help the atmosphere...I finally started to recover from it after about four years until I recently found out more about them...NOWHERE IS SAFE!!!
But in all seriousness, I've developed a fear of these things. To me, they're the scariest things ever! Even if you disagree with me, I'm not gonna deny the fact that they are very unpleasant to pop in my mind at night.

Fallen for so many screamers I know how to recognize one.
1 The short length
2 Obvious theme and or subject (focus, listen, etc.)
3 Low volume

Also, try pausing the movie and reading the comments, most of them will say things like:
"YOU SON OF A B***H I HATE YOU."
"lol that scared me xD"
Or something similar...
