Name: Jacqueline 'Jac' Sorensen
Nickname: Jac. One of the male members of another team calls her 'Houdini'
Title: Spectre - she can handle the code name but you'd never get in the costume.
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Ability: Molecular Manipulation - which manifests primarily in the form of Intangibility.
Team: True affiliation unknown. Currently allied with Thea.

Hair: Very Dark Brown, just above shoulder length, straight with choppy bangs.
Eyes: Light Brown, copper.
Height: 5ft 10
Build: Slim, but lean.
Distinguishing marks: None

Personality:
A consummate actress, Jac is charming, flirty but cunning, she uses her intellect and smooth-talking to coax answers out of people, or to save her skin. She's good at manipulating people, reading them, and fairly skilled at wriggling her way out of the sticky situations she finds herself in. Her sense of humour is dry, and she often makes wise-cracks in serious situations. Naturally curious, she has a sharp mind, which some might argue is wasted in the criminal circuit. Not a truly evil person, just misguided and selfish, she has a great capacity for good, but often chooses to act badly or to distance herself from other people. Despite what other members of her team label as 'heartlessness', Jac often surprises them by doing what is right, or protecting a fellow teammate. As far as loyalty and friendship goes, she's something of a lone-ranger and has always been content to rely on herself but sooner or later she has to decide whether she's going to stick with the new friends she makes in Thea, or do as she's always done - keep playing all sides to her benefit.

Background:
Not a lot is known about her past, and she's unlikely to offer up any information without good cause. Jac lives her life only looking out for herself and trying to save her own hide. Her dealings as an informant, blackmailer or whatever underhand deed she's practicing that week can land her in trouble, but she's savvy and one of the best at what she does.

When the Black Rain came, she was being cornered by some thugs working for a man she'd crossed. She was trapped by them when the rain started to fall. The storm was pretty wild, distracting them, and she managed to pull herself from their grasp and escape their clutches.

Three weeks later, she goes to grab something and her fingers pass right through it. She thinks she's imagining it. But later, when she has another encounter with a dude she's pissed off, she tries to escape through the crowds on the streets in Darkshore and ends up phasing through them, giving her a clear get away. She twigs pretty quickly the weird storm might have something to do with her new powers and sets to immediately testing her limits and how much she can actually do.

The technical name for her ability is 'molecular manipulation' which manifests primarily in 'intangibility' - she can alter the molecules in her body to become intangible, allowing her to pass through solid matter. She can also cause other objects to 'phase' by touching them e.g. If she touched a wall, someone without her ability could pass through it. She's isn't sure to what extent she can manipulate molecules yet. There's much for her to learn, and there are teachers to be found in Darkshore...

She meets a two members of Thea whilst looking for information at the University, having followed a tip; a student there, and a professor. She decides to stick with Thea and learn more, even providing her skills as an informant to scope out info on the other teams. Right now she is most loyal to them. For now at least...*unapologetic shrug from Jac*

Why Thea specifically:
Although she's probably not suited to Thea at first glance, she does have some qualities that make her capable of sticking in that group long term. Jac likes her freedom, and she hates being controlled, so the more Jac learns of Cronus' evil agenda, and the government's plans for Rhea's in Darkshore the more she questions whether or not either should be allowed to carry on. It's not about heroics, it's survival. She's not one to operate on a highly moralistic level; she couldn't care less about running around saving people, not really. To her, Cronus and the government are like the thugs and criminals she's been associating with all these years, except now they've got super powers, and the ability to rob her of her hard-earned freedom, and as a survivor and someone who's looking out for herself, logic dictates that letting Cronus run things in Darkshore spells trouble for everyone concerned.

Despite her attitude and focus initially being on how she can look out for herself in a city soon to be crawling with G.R.I.D's and power hungry Cronus members, she knows that being a disinterested member of Themis will do nothing to help anybody. Jac is a woman of action - and so is Thea - so if she has to put her skills to good use and tolerate a few whiney kids with hero complexes to stop the government and Cronus', then so be it. If that makes her a hero, fine.

Just don't call her that to her face.
