This started out as Warhawk's daughter, but somehow it ended up being Richard Grayson's granddaughter. Go figure. So yeah, Mar'i Elizabeth Kane or "Bette Kane" (sneeky, no?) is the part Tamaranean granddaughter of Dick Grayson (Nightwing) and Starfire, Daughter of Mar'i Grayson (aka Nightstar. [link] ) Not sure who her father is (besides being called 'Mr. Kane' ) so let's just say he's a boring old non-super human.I was worried the civvies were a little too exploitative, but I suppose that given that she's supposed to be part Tamaranean, it's actually rather modest.
The Supergirl version of Flamebird from a few years back is obviously a huge influence here...ok, I admit it, it's wholesale theft. I couldn't help myself.

I wasn't happy with the civilian outfit's design so I've done a little tweaking and while I was at it, I fixed the odd stare in the eyes.

It's interesting, though the armor looks a bit restricting and the wings, when they are opened...look a bit weird. Seriously, though, I thought she was Warhawk's kid. Do you the children of the JLU as in Warhawk's, Aquagirl's and maybe Mircon's and Green Lantern's? Just wondering.

Well, TaJyaDol is one of the many forms of the current Masked Rider. Not a DC character, but still an interesting one.

I normal hate to much skin exposure but when I see this I think two things, One) the grey/blue armour stuff can remotly be removed and two doesn't the chest robin thing get in the wa? I mean she would be able to more her arms! you'd have to put it on her shoulders.

Don't worry, the suit is more flexible than it looks and it can come off pretty easily when the wearer wants it to.

Was just re-looking at some of your Beyond personages...
It occured to me, if you change it from Kane to Cain, then her father could easily be Cassie Cain's son, reinforcing the whole bat fam... (Yeah, I know she doesn't exist in the DCAU, so sue me) Plus, a FlameBird does have to have a Nightwing... so she could have a brother or sister?
(granted, the current Nightwing costume is already pretty darned close to the Beyond style in its simplicity ((why I like it)), not sure how you would do a future bearer of the name)

I'm thinking she has some abilities like the 'starbolts', higher than normal human strength and endurance. Though I think the suit in part helps her to control her power of flight, which is somewhat latent and unstable.

Its just an idea but considering her outfit and the other Beyond charakters, id would make sense when she was atleast trained by Warhawk.
And now after he vanished with the rest of JLU she's taking on the job on her own.

Actually I rather think she was already an active JLU member and disappeared with the others.
I think it's safe to say the suit is a cross between Tamaranean and Thanagarian tech, though that doesn't necessarily mean Warhawk trainer her. Instead I think she got it from Thanagarian resistance members living in exile on Tamaran.

talk about hot stuff, love the flame effect it reminds of the Phoenix from Xmen, but this looks soooooo much cooler. Personally i think you out did yourself

It's just a couple of simple plug-in filter that generates a fire pattern, overlaid on top of one another. Effective though.
