Description
I've had this on in mind for a while now, though it took some ironing out. At one point this was going to be a straight up Jason Todd/Red Hood design, but as I went along I found the idea of Damien as the Red Robin somewhat more appealing. For those who are wondering, I'm not sure if this would be yet another secret child of Bruce Wayne (I think I'm pushing my luck with Donna Troy as it is.) If he is then he must have been born before Ra's took over Talia's body because the alternative would be...just...wrong.
So who knows, maybe Talia had a fling with Ubu instead!
Kidding!
[Quick Edit]
Changed a few things that were bothering me; separated the boots from the trousers, added a few extra armor plates on the forearms, emphasised the bird shape of the mask a little and made the swords a little more swordlike and less like a pair of sticks.

Really enjoying your angry Damian, and very cool costume.
You have any plans for a Jason Todd Red Hood in this set.

Hey, tell it to DC!
Still, as with all DCAU style adaptions, you needn't assume the character will be identical to the version in the comics.
To my mind this interpretation would be more of a cross between Jason Todd's Red Hood and what Terry McGinnis might have been had Andrea gone through with the hit on his parents and had been trained by Waller...with just an edge of the comic book Damian's elitist, aristocratic type personality.

Well I hope your version isn't a whiny little anxt brat or snotty little smart mouth then ^^ maybe your Damian will be tolerable. And what do you mean tell it to DC? I hope you're only referring to him being Robin.

He's a bit old to qualify as a brat, but he's defiantly a git.

You were able to keep the part of the character that makes me want to punt him every time he's in the comic, but added enough seriousness to make him a believable contender.
Bravo! that's amazing

I always like to take unlikeable characters and find a way to make them work. It's something we tried to do with Max when we worked on the DKA strip.

Well he started off as a straight up Jason Todd/Red Hood adaption (as in Terry's former Robin all grown up) but I thought it'd be interesting to show how Terry might have turned out had Andrea gone through with the hit on Terry's parents and he'd been coached as Batman by Waller. Though that's not exactly who this character is, he's a rough analogue.

It'd be nice to see a Tim Drake in this series. Personaly i never really agreed with return of the Joker's take on Tim's ultimate fate. The idea of the joker laying dormant inside him was cool but not him being a communications engineer. Being a detective is a big part of Tim's inner self. Even if what the Joker did to him caused him not to be robin anymore It'd be far more likely that he'd dedicate his life to the police force instead. (IE he would have made a better Comissioner than Barb.) Anyways i'm rambling. The series looks really tight, good work.

Well I'm sticking to DCAU continuity, so Tim Drake stays out of cape and tights brigade.

Very nice, I thought I was the only one that made Damian Red Robin. Just wondering did we have this discussion before?
Wonder what Red Hood Beyond would look like? I know you said he was just a prototype and found this alot more appealing.

Not that I'm aware of.
Well, since I've used this design already, Red Hood would have to be significantly different. Perhaps something closer to the original tux & dome outfit.

TitansFighter01 In reply to ReverendTrigster [2009-06-03 02:20:37 +0000 UTC]
Oh sorry. Lian is Roy Harper's daughter aka Speedy/Arsenal and Jade Nugyn aka Cheshire.
In the Kingdom Come timeline she went by the name of Red Hood. Lian did.

People keep saying that, but it wasn't my intent. I'm honestly not very familiar with Deadpool and until very recently was only vaguely familiar with him.

TropicalFreckles In reply to ReverendTrigster [2009-05-25 17:08:01 +0000 UTC]
I know, I know it wasn't your intent. XD When I drew something one time, they said it looked like someone elses character.
It ticks a person off, but it does faguely look like him.
Deadpool is also awesome. So is Marvel.
Anyways, I forgot to mention how I love your little series of the Beyond Characters. I haven't seen a series like that before, I thought it was creative. :3

Doubly so since he's a mix of both Ibn al Xu'ffasch and Jason Todd/Red Hood.
The general idea is that he was born shortly before the Apocalypse of '09 and hidden away by Talia to protect him from his grandfather, so he was raised in secret by a sect of the League that was loyal to Talia and he's been brought up with the belief that he's the Son of Batman. I'm just not certain if that belief is also a reality.
