“For Christmas”

In regards to what I want this year,
I know I haven’t been the best,
But I hope you’ll take a minute,
To consider my request.

I know I’ll receive plenty of gifts,
All I want and much more than I need,
But it’s this list of desires for better days,
That I really want you to read.

First I ask you to help my mom,
For she suffers so much pain,
I wish for just one day for her,
Where she can feel healthy again.

Bless my father and all his sorrows,
He’s had a troublesome year,
His mother died this past July,
And I know he shed a tear.

My little brother is sixteen,
But his illness makes him lose track,
Please help him feel our love,
And fight the things that hold him back.

Take care of all the friends I’ve made,
In everything they do,
This special time of year I hope,
Gives them the happiness they are due.

There is one thing I ask for,
Just one important plea,
Could you please give my love to him?
And bring him home to me.

I want him to know now,
The place he holds in my heart,
And how it slowly kills me,
Every day we are apart.

For Christmas all I ask,
Is that my family and friends be blessed,
And that he’ll come home to me,
That’s all that I request.
