This is basically a WIP but I wasn't gonna put that in the title.But do shut up about anything you might see that's wrong. I already have a list of things to try and fix.
...Sorry, I'm being rude aren't I? *sigh* I'm very sensitive about my pencil work...I know I'm not very good. That picture of Aaron came out great because I love him and put my heart into it. This one of me and Zac is going to take longer to get right.

As you can see this is far from perfect. The hair over Zac's eye is giving me the most trouble, as his the hair on the left side of his head. Both his hair and mine look horrible, and the shading is still too light. I haven't applied much detail yet, but I'm gonna keep working on it.
So please, no crits, advice, anything.
I posted this for ~x0Habbibi0x because for some reason she thinks I'm good at portraits XD I think you're wrong Flare, but I promised you I'd do this and I did. I hope you're doing alright.
The rest of you comment accordingly. Since only two people I'm watching do portraits on a regular basis, I don't want to see any advice from anyone besides them. They inspire me, and so I'll probably ask them for help, so I don't need anything else.
Let's laugh at how hideous I look, har har.

This really is beautifully done my friend. Your shading really does add good depth to the faces and I can really tell who these two are from the photographs within your gallery. It's really hard to do drawings like this from photos or still life. I have to take my hat of to your for such a master peace

It is definitely hard. I think my first featured deviation, "Aaron" that portrait came out better. I'll keep working on this one and possibly update it later if I can improve on it.
But it means a lot for people to say it looks great anyway. Thakns for the comment, support, and the favorite. I appreciate them all as always

Aww thank you so much Martin. Something like this does take a long time. If you keep working at your art I'm sure you'll get good enough to do portraits someday. I couldn't draw at all four years ago; all it takes is determination and practice and I know you have that ^^

Hey, you're getting there, don't beat yourself up over it, it's much better than your Sonic works, trust me.
I could send you alink of Gimp if you'd like, to make shading less of a hassle.
I'm sorry I have nothing much to say, I just feel dead after the latest incident... I don't mean to come off sounding like an insensitive prick...

I think I'll stick with perfecting my pencil shading...I'm finally learning to lay down solid color and then add the details later.
And don't worry about it. I know you've been having a hard time. The fact that you even took time to comment so quickly means a great deal. I really appreciate it

It's a hard technique to perfect I'm sure. My friend `athenatt is a genius when it comes to portraits. When I first started out I was pretty bad.
One thing I find that helps is if you can, take the original picture and apply a black and white filter to it. That'll help you assign values of shade to different areas.
But yeah, you're so awesome at doing it on the computer it doesn't matter if you're not that good at pencil shading
