For My Diamond in the Rough...please forgive me.

Please forgive me,
For abusing your sweet heart.
I've treated you so badly,
And I don't know where to start.

How can I apologize,
And make up for my sins?
For each and every scar I've left,
Where do I begin?

All the hope you gave me,
I returned with ignorance.
Though I said I loved you,
I gave that love no chance.

I'm sure I made you angry.
All these foolish things I've done,
Only serve to make you weary,
When I'm the only one,

Who is to blame for sadness,
To blame for all the mess.
If your heart is hurting,
To the cause I do confess.

I pray somehow your precious heart,
Will forgive this heinous crime,
To ruin all the joy we had,
Failing all the time,

To really show you how I feel,
Or simply be a friend.
I wasted time, I lost your love,
Too soon it was the end.

The beautiful things I saw at night,
The life I knew would come,
I was too comfortable with dreams,
Nothing could or would be done.

You lived your life without me,
But still I pulled you back.
It was wrong of me to do this,
Please forgive me for this act.

Forgive this foolish heart of mine,
Stupid for all its love,
But I'll never let go of you,
You're my miracle from above.

Live your life without me,
Promise me you'll be okay.
I'll walk down my own road,
And find relief someday.

But only once I take the pain,
For all that I've done wrong.
I'll take my punishment in stride,
My heart will bleed along.

I said I'd die for you my love,
And make any sacrifice.
I'd take any fate of death for you,
And pay whatever price.

Tonight I hope you're smiling,
That you're thrilled to be alive,
Because when I said I'd bleed for you,
It included death inside.

Let me take the pain from you,
In return for all the peace.
While I struggle to stay afloat,
May your joy never cease.

So please try to forgive me,
For not knowing where to start.
Forgive me love for hurting you,
And mishandling your heart.

I love you, and I'm sorry,
You are always in my heart.
